About ICD-11
What is ICD-11?
The International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision (ICD-11) is the WHO global standard for recording health information and causes of death. It replaces ICD-10 with a more modern and detailed structure.
Code structure
ICD-11 codes use an alphanumeric format (e.g., 1A00). The first digit indicates the chapter, the second is always a letter. Extensions after the dot allow greater detail (e.g., 1A00.0Z).
