Rapid onset inflammation of the large airways in the lung, including any part of the bronchi. It is often viral in origin, e.g. myxovirus (i.e. influenza A,B,C, parainfluenza, HRS virus), adenovirus, and picoma viruses (e.g. rhinoviruses), mycoplasma and bacteria.
