Definition

Pulmonary oedema is a condition caused by excess fluid in the lungs. This fluid collects in the numerous air sacs in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe.

Exclusions

  • Pulmonary oedema due to chemicals, gases, fumes or vapours
  • Pulmonary oedema with mention of heart disease NOS or heart failure

Inclusions

  • Acute pulmonary oedema
  • Chronic pulmonary oedema
