Definition

A group of conditions characterised by findings in the fetus or newborn due to conditions in the mother resulting from surgical health intervention.

Exclusions

• damage to placenta from amniocentesis, caesarean section or surgical induction
• Termination of pregnancy, affecting surviving fetus or newborn
• previous surgery to uterus or pelvic organs
• Fetus or newborn affected by caesarean delivery
